Capital Health Plan is a proud sponsor of this year’s 12th annual Capital City Senior Games, and we want to congratulate all the athletes who competed in this year's events.
Organized by Tallahassee’s Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Affairs Department and its Senior Services division, the Capital City Senior Games is an event certified by the Florida Sports Foundation. The games give local athlete sages 50 and up a chance to qualify for the Florida Senior Games State Championships and the National Senior Games. This year’s Capital City Senior Games took place from April 30 through May 11.
The Senior Games is an excellent way for older adults to exercise both body and mind while also experiencing a sense of community and teamwork. The games feature various competitions for all fitness levels, including archery, bag toss, basketball, bowling, cycling, golf, horseshoes, pickleball, swimming, tennis, and track and field. Some games even feature competition in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.
Capital Health Plan is proud to support senior-oriented community activities like the Senior Games, in addition to the array of services it offers directly to seniors. These services include the Nancy Van Vessem, M.D., Center for Healthy Aging, which features specialized services and physicians with expertise focused on the health of older adults.
For its hard work and dedication, CHP was recognized as an Age-Friendly Health System — Committed to Care Excellence by the John A. Hartford Foundation and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, two leaders in health care quality, safety, and innovation.
